Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, born in 1955, is the son of Sir Edward Muteesa II. He was installed as the 36th Kabaka of Buganda in 1993, when the kingdom's cultural institution was restored after being abolished under Milton Obote in 1966. He is married to the Nnaabagereka (Queen) Sylvia Nagginda. As a ceremonial and cultural monarch, he has focused his reign on preserving Buganda's heritage, promoting education, and supporting development initiatives across the kingdom, continuing to reign today.
